Looking Forward to Next Season for the Mustangs!

The Stevenson Athletic 25th Anniversary Logo

As everyone is fully aware of by now, COVID-19 has destroyed the spring and possibly summer social lives as well as athletic lives of everyone across the globe!  The age group that was affected by this quarantine most is definitely college students.  This is because, with all of the loss of sports seasons, forced relocating, and no social interaction, college life has been flipped upside-down.

Even though we are going through a tough time with COVID-19 going on, it has already started to get better!  The peak of COVID-19 is believed to be behind us, as the numbers of recovered patients begins to overcome the number of new cases!  This is a time where we all really need to embrace each other, and be strong together with our respective households!  I really believe that this is the best way to overcome this virus, as well as to stay mentally and physically healthy!  I really want to challenge people to quarantine as best as they can for the short time we have remaining of it, as two or three more weeks of quarantine can't do any more harm.

In the eyes of the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team, there is only one option of how to deal with their season's cancellation due to COVID-19; to beat it and be ready for next year!  This is the mindset every teammate has, as the anger of being robbed of a championship caliber season will only lead to success if they use the off-season correctly.  This is a huge part of the teams current mindset, as every team member is ready to grind each and every day of this offseason.

I know the whole team has their daily workouts delivered to them on an app in their phones, as well as eating guidelines that most athletes try to stick to.  These are two great methods to maintain and improve both physical health and mental health, and will show off in next year's NCAA lacrosse season.  This vigorous off season workout and meal plan should have our Mustangs ready to win the NCAA lacrosse tournament next Spring!!

Stay tuned for next year's season for the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse Team, and stick with them as they make a run for the Ring!!

Where to go on Hikes near Stevenson University During COVID-19

Beautiful Scenery in Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area

In my last post I talked about places to walk in Owings Mills, near Stevenson's Owings Mills Campus.  In this post I will be sharing 2 beautiful places to hike around Stevenson University.

Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area
  • Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area is about 15 minutes away from Stevenson Owings Mills Campus.  If you follow Dolfield Blvd to its end, and take a right on Deer Park Road, it will be a few miles down on the ride hand side of the road.  There is a decent amount of parking, but you have to be careful not to block anybody in!
  • This is such a beautiful hiking trail, and it showcases a lot of open plains type area.  The trail starts off in the woods and leads to a huge open plan area that is free to roam.  The picture above showcases only one of the amazing views Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area has to offer!  This trail leads very close to the end of the Red Run Valley Trail that was mentioned in the last blog post.
  • I would highly recommend this trail to anyone who is adventurous and loves to be out in nature!  This is the biggest and best hiking sport inside of Owings Mills, and definitely is worth the struggle, even if you don't like to hike as much as the people you choose to go with!  This is not the best spot to hike on a rainy day, as the beginning of the trails are all filled with puddles, so plan accordingly!
Patapsco Valley State Park

  • Patapsco Valley State Park is about 20 minutes away from the Stevenson Owings Mills Campus.  If you get on 795 South, and then merge onto 695 South, you're well on your way!  You take exit 15b onto route 40 West, and it is a few miles down the road, very visible with signs.  This is extremely easy to get to, and very obvious, as there are signs everywhere that direct you to the state park.
  • The Hiking trail at Patapsco Valley State Park travels along the patapsco river, and is such a beautiful location!  The park also has a campground, as well as fishing, kayaking, and numerous hiking spots!  This park has so many different trails, that it would be near impossible to explore the entire park!!  There are the easy main trails that families travel on, as well as the harder, longer trails that more advance hikers travel on.
  • I highly recommend going to this park during the season of COVID-19, as it is a fantastic place to spend an entire day!!  Patapsco Valley State Park is the perfect family hiking spot!!  It is complete with everything a family could want, from hiking spots, to disc golf, to picnic areas!  The trails range from short and simple, to long and difficult, so this is a spot for all ages and hiking skill levels.  I think this is one of the best hiking spots in Baltimore County!!

Tune in for my next blog post, which will feature a look into next years Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team, and how the Mustangs will move forward as a community from this cancelled semester.

Where to go on Walks Near Stevenson University During COVID-19

A Beautiful Wooden Bridge Walkway in Red Run Valley Trail

As we finally pass the peak of COVID-19, people seem to have figured out their day to day lives in quarantine.  One thing I have found many people, including myself, doing is going on short walks a few times a day.  This is a great way to spend time in quarantine, while maintaining your physical and mental health!!  This week Im going to talk about 2 spots in Owings Mills to get out in nature!

Red Run Valley Trail
  • Red Run Valley Trail is located off of Red Run Blvd, about 10 minutes away from Stevenson Owings Mills Campus.  If you take Dolfield Blvd, and turn left at the Royal Farms intersection, it is about a mile down the road on your right.  It is really easy to miss, so look for a small parking area on the right of the road with a green gate!
  • This trail actually ends up at Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area, but is a completely different trail!  This is the perfect walking trail to take your family on, whether you're biking, walking, roller blading or walking your dog.  This trail is paved, but has many unpaved trails off to the sides of the paved trail.
  • I highly recommend this trail to anyone that needs to get outside, which I can't think of anyone that doesn't need to.  It is a great spot to walk alone, with your roommates, or even your entire family!  There is a few little streams that you can walk to off of the main path.  I found these little paths to be extremely relaxing, as even the sound of the stream is soothing.
  • This trail is so great to keep your mental health positive during this time of quarantine!   It also helps to go for a shorter walk and clear your head, especially when you're thinking about COVID-19.
Northwest Regional Park
  • Northwest Regional Park is located about 10 minutes away from Stevenson Owings Mills Campus.  If you follow Dolfield Blvd to its end, and turn left onto Deer Park Road, it will be on your left in about a quarter of a mile.  Its easy to see by its sign out in front, and has a pretty decent amount of parking!
  • This is more of an athletic field park; however there are plenty of walking trails inside the park, as well as many hiking trails that lead out of the park!  This is a great spot to go and work out, as there is fields to run and exercise on.  This is also a great spot to take your pets and family on a walk in a park!
  • This is also the perfect place to organize a social distanced exercise class, or just a group of people that is willing to work out 6 feet apart.  This is because there are fields where sprints can be done, as well as any other type of bodyweight workout.  I highly recommend going out there if you're still in Owings Mills and need a place to workout, or just walk around with a nice view!
Stay tuned, my next blog post will be talking about 2 hiking spots in Owings Mills!!  Stay safe everyone, and stay active!!

5 Things to do to Stay in Mustang Shape During Quarantine

Staying in shape during COVID-19

As we approach the "End of the World" or the peak of COVID-19, everybody is wondering the same thing... How do they stay active and positive during quarantine.  Arguably, staying active is much less important than staying positive during COVID-19.  This is because a negative mindset will make your quarantine 10x worse, whereas a positive mindset can only improve your quarantine.

  1. Find an interactive online workout program!  These online workout programs are often times free, and with nothing else to do, what better way is there to spend your time then working out.  These programs will also give you the interaction with others that most people are craving during this time of isolation.  An online exercise program would not only improve your physical shape, but also your mental shape.
  2. Get outside and walk!  Walking seems like the least efficient way to stay in shape, however, it is much better than staying inside all day.  Walking will not only help you to stay in shape and positive, it can also make you money!!  There are apps nowadays that pay you based on the amount you walk.  While they don't pay you the way a job would, there are plenty of benefits to these apps.  So why not get outside, stay active, and make some money while you're at it?
  3. Maintain your normal routine!  Obviously, there is not going to be any such thing as normal with COVID-19 going on; however, the best thing to do for mental health is to keep your normal routine as best as you can.  This is not to say that you need to go out and see people as you normally would.  This means that within your quarantine, try and do the normal things you'd do outside of quarantine to the best of your ability.
  4. Continue to eat NORMALLY!  Even with the grocery store shortage, they are still open, and there's plenty of delivery options for groceries too! People assume that they should be rationing their food, but they really should be eating healthy and normally, in order to stay in shape.  Eating right will also increase your mental state, as when people get hungry, they tend to turn into "hangry" people.  Too many "Hangry" people in an isolated space could cause mayhem, so eat right!
  5. Yoga/Meditation/Relaxation!  There is absolutely no better time to practice, or even learn yoga and meditation.  Yoga is a physical activity that will increase your physical shape, and will also benefit your mental state to a small extent.  Meditation on the other hand is much more of a mental activity, that greatly improves your mental well-being, and slightly improves your physical shape.  Yoga and meditation are both great activities to do at home during this time of quarantine.
With these 5 tips, I hope your quarantine will be made better... Don't forget to continue to get enough sleep either, as that would quickly turn you into a quarantine creature!  My prayers go out to everyone affected by COVID-19; stay safe!!

Whats the Next Step for the Mustangs?

Stevenson Men's Lacrosse players huddled together

As everybody knows about and has been affected by COVID-19, it is no surprise that all NCAA spring sports have been cancelled.  This has been devastating for all NCAA athletes, but most devastated is the senior class.  Even though an extra year of eligibility has been granted to all NCAA athletes, the Ivy league, as well as their D3 mirroring conference that will follow suit, the NESCAC, have decided to not give their students an extra year of eligibility.  As everyone can imagine, this is a crushing blow to an unfortunate worldwide disaster.

The season's of these athletes have been take away in these leagues; however, this year's seniors are still eligible to play in a different conference or league, so they have not lost their extra year completely.  It is good to know that these seniors do have a chance to play that extra year they so desperately want to hold on to.  This is not the case for most of the senior NCAA athletes out there however; as most of them see the end of their college career and do not look back, even for an extra sports season.  I know this may come as a shock to readers, but it makes sense to any college athlete, as the 4 years played at the college level of any sport is physically and mentally draining.  By the end of a 4 year NCAA career, most athletes are ready to take it easy, as opposed to returning for a 5th year (even though 5th year's are very common on the Stevenson Mens Lacrosse Team).

Now, the question everybody has been waiting for... What is next for the Mustangs, and NCAA sports?  While the main focus at the moment is keeping everybody as healthy as possible, the whole nation is certainly itching for the return of both collegiate and professional sports.  This anticipation, combined with the quarantine angst is making many people across the globe incredibly antsy to get out of the house.

My advice to everyone is to maintain social distancing, while trying to stay active.  In today's day and age, too many people will be using technology the entirety of the month-long quarantine.  This is not going to be a good trend in general, as after the quarantine is over, people will remain as attached to their technology as they were during.  This is the reason the Stevenson Mens Lacrosse team is still working out everyday, and getting outside.  With help from the Athletic Training Coach MC Mcfadden, we are able to continue to do these workouts and to get outside with a routine, even if that routine is announced remotely.

My challenge to readers is to be active for at least 2 hours a day, and to not be using technology for the majority of this quarantine... STAY SAFE!!

The End of the World For all 2020 NCAA Spring Sports

Mental Health strategies regarding COVID-19
As all of you know by now, the NCAA as well as most colleges in the country have decided to close their campus' down for the remainder of the spring semester (this includes Stevenson and the Mustangs athletics teams).  This is a harsh and prejudice decision, despite being somewhat reasonable.  Even though COVID-19 is definitely a threat, and completely warrants a suspension of athletic seasons and college semesters, a cancellation of these seasons and semesters is pretty extraordinary.

The goal of this whole situation is for COVID-19 to have as little effect on global population and economy as possible.  This is the rationale for the sports seasons being cancelled and spring semesters being switched to online; however, is the COVID-19 really that immense of an issue?  Clearly, social distancing is necessary, and the seasons and semesters needed to be suspended; personally, as a college athlete, I believe that both the semesters and seasons should not have been cancelled, but postponed/suspended.  Obviously, the greater good of the people is what is more important, and is what is in the thoughts of government and NCAA orchestrators.

Now, the message here is not that COVID-19 isn't a threat; the message is that we as a society need to react more appropriately to situations similar to these.  With social media growing ever so rapidly, people are driving each other insane from all the COVID-19 pandemonium.  People need to learn to look at the REAL facts (on cdc.gov), and stop spreading panic in times of a pandemic like this.  This would greatly decrease the panic, and because of the decreased panic would make it easier for the world to get out of this pandemic.

The COVID-19 outbreak has seriously put a halt to everything in the country, especially when it comes to being a college student/athlete.  Especially as a student athlete, life has been flipped upside down by this outbreak, and there is absolutely nothing any college aged kid can do about it.

The hopes for college athletics in the near future is that all athletes band together and continue to bond even with the discontinuation of the NCAA season.  My wish to all is that everyone stay safe from the COVID-19 outbreak, and that everyone continues to stay mentally healthy in these crazy times in order to get through the pandemic unified together.

#16 Stevenson Mens Mustangs fall to the #18 Mens Lacrosse team of Christopher Newport

Jacob Tatum Netting his 4th Goal of the Game at York

This weeks game for the Stevenson Mens Lacrosse team was in Newport News, VA and was against the Christopher Newport University Captains.  This game was yet another gritty one goal game that was battled out by the Mustangs.  Even though the Mustangs had the lead early, the Captains came back in the 4th to win the game by 1.  Heres a deeper look into the game:

Quarter I

  • The Captains came out hot, scoring 2 minutes into the contest, with an unassisted goal by Alex Brendes.
  • Stevenson sophomore Ryan Coleman got things moving for the Mustangs, scoring two quick goals, one unassisted, the other assisted by junior Jacob Tatum.
  • The Mustangs added to their one goal lead with an unassisted goal by junior John Harrington
  • The Mustang momentum was put to a halt when the Captains scored 3 goals in under 3 minutes to make the score 4-3 Christopher Newport.
  • Ryan Coleman again starting the momentum for the Mustangs with an assist to junior Will Smith for his first goal of the game to tie it up before the 2nd quarter.

Quarter II

  • Will Smith's stick stayed on fire, as he scored the first goal of the quarter, with an assist from senior Captain Ethan Christensen.
  • Most of the quarter was fought at and around the midline, with both teams scrapping to be able to clear the ball to their offense.
  • Christopher Newport finally answered back with 3 minutes left to go with a goal from Dylan Rice.
  • The Mustangs came right back with a goal from sophomore Cam Leydig, assisted from Christensen, to take the lead before halftime.

Quarter III

  • Stevenson came out in the 2nd half super hot, the Mustangs scored 3 goals in the first 5 minutes of the half; goals scored by Jacob Tatum, Cam Leydig and Will Smith for his 3rd of the game.
  • The captains responded to their 4 goal deficit by netting 2 more goals to make the score 9-7 Mustangs.
  • Senior Collin Tucker, someone who will definitely be seeing the field more, answered back right away with the 10th goal for the Mustangs and his first of the season.
  • The Captains were not done fighting yet, as they drew 2 penalties in the last 3 minutes and capitalized for 2 goals on these man up opportunities; goals scored by Alex Brendes and Brady Altobello.

Quarter IV

  • Christopher Newport continued rolling into the 4th quarter, tying the game up not even a minute into the quarter with a goal from Will Stockhausen.
  • Mustang Captain Ethan Christensen was able to find Connor Nelson for the Mustangs 11th goal of the game, and to get back up by 1 on the Captains.
  • The Captains, however, were still on their roll from the end of the 3rd quarter, and netted 4 more goals before the Mustangs even had the ball on offense; goals scored by Dylan Rice, Drew Miller, and Brady Altobello.
  • In the final 4 minutes of the contest, it seemed as if the Mustangs would make a comeback, as Will Smith got the momentum back with a fast break goal from sophomore Luke Ensor.
  • The Mustangs final effort was a 13th goal at the 21 second mark; this marked the final score (14-13 CNU), as the mustangs were not able to tie it up before the end of regulation.
Goalkeeper stats
  • Mustang Goalkeeper Marc Poust had 13 saves for 27 shots on goal; Captain goalkeeper Scott McAneny had 19 saves for 32 shots on goal.
The Mustangs schedule for this upcoming weekend at the Mustang Classic is to be determined.  Post will be updated as soon as the new schedule is released.  Stay Tuned!!!

#16 Stevenson Mustangs fall to #12 Gettysburg Bullets at Mustang Stadium

Stevenson's Will Smith and Cam Leydig celebrate a Mustangs goal!

This past Saturday, February 29th, the #16 Stevenson Mens Lacrosse team took on the #12 ranked Gettysburg Bullets.  This game was a well fought battle by both teams in the first half, yet as the second half came around it seemed as though both teams were thawing out from the 27 degree weather along with the 18 mph winds racing through Mustang Stadium.  The Bullets outscored the Mustangs with a final score of 10-5.

Quarter 1
  • The first 10 minutes of the game was a gritty transitional battle.  Both teams could not break each others defense and capitalize, and it started to seem like it was going to be a low scoring game.
  • Sophomore Ryan Coleman got the Mustangs on the board with an assist from fellow sophomore Shane Ford to get some momentum flowing.
Quarter 2
  • Only a minute in to the quarter, sophomore Josh Brannan netted his first goal of the game, with a crafty assist by Junior Will Smith.
  • The Bullets got their offense together and scored 3 goals within 6 minutes; goals scored by Michael Mccormick, Nick Cooper, and Jack Fletcher.
  • The Mustangs could not figure their man up offense out, as they went 0 for 4 on man up possessions in the second quarter alone.
  • To take the momentum from the Mustangs, the Bullets scored their 4th of the quarter in the last minute of the half.
Quarter 3
  • The Bullets started the scoring for the half to make it 5-2 Gettysburg, with a goal by Griffin Gallagher.
  • The Mustangs finally got themselves back on the board with a goal by sophomore Cam Leydig, assisted by senior Captain Ethan Christensen.
  • The Mustangs' momentum didn't last long, as in the last 3:30 of the 3rd quarter, the Bullets scored two more goals to increase their lead to 4.
Quarter 4
  • Mustang Captain Ethan Christensen knew he had to get something going for Stevenson, and started off the 4th quarter with an unassisted goal.
  • The Mustangs still needed 3 more goals to even tie the game up, but their momentum was diminished by the Bullets, as they increased the score to 8-4 Gettysburg.
  • The Mustangs scored their one and only man up goal with 7 minutes left in the game; scored by junior Jacob Tatum, assisted by Cam Leydig.
  • The score was now 8-5 and the Mustangs pulled their goalie Marc Poust out of the crease to have an extra man on defense.
  • This was done with 2 minutes left in the game, and the Bullets took advantage of the open net and scored 2 more goals to make the final score 10-5.
The Mustang Goalkeeper, Marc Poust had 7 saves (keep in mind 2 goals were scored with an open net).  The Mustang man up squad was only 1 for 8, which could have changed the game entirely.  The Mustangs were also on 6 for 19 at the Face-off X, which hurt the Mustangs time of possession.

Stay tuned, as this weekend the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team will Travel down to #20 Christopher Newport University for a 1 o'clock game on Saturday March 7th.

Stevenson Men's Lacrosse Upsets #6 York College on the Road

The second game of the season for the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team this year was against #6 York College.  This game was a gritty matchup, despite the ranking difference, and shows in the box scores.  Heres a more in depth view of the game this past Saturday:

Quarter I

  • Dylan Wolf got the York Spartans up to an early 2 goal lead in the first 5 minutes of the game, with Noah Bruno adding an unassisted 3rd goal to the Spartans strong 3 goal lead 8:20 into the game.
  • In the last 5 minutes of the quarter, Stevenson junior Will Smith got the ball rolling on a man up possession with an assist to sophomore Ryan Coleman.  Ryan Coleman went on to give the Mustangs some momentum finally, with an unassisted goal to shorten the Spartan lead by 1.  Then came another man up possession for the Mustangs with another Mustang goal scored by sophomore Cam Leydig, assisted from senior Captain Ethan Christensen.
  • The Mustangs went on to take the lead with a goal scored by Ethan Christensen, from the stick of sophomore Connor Nelson.  The Spartans regained their footing and Brendan O'Sullivan answered back to tie the game up at 4.
Quarter II

  • The second quarter was a tough, well fought battle by both defenses.  The Mustangs however, used this quarter to shift the momentum of the game.  The Spartans went man down 31/2  minutes into the quarter; the Mustangs had a great day during man up possessions.
  • The Mustangs took advantage of this man up, with a goal from Christensen scored by junior Jacob Tatum.  Tatum's stick must've been on fire, because the next time the ball was in hit stick, it also ended up in the back of the net, assisted by sophomore Shane Ford.  Sophomore Josh Brannan closed the scoring for the half with a goal assisted by Will Smith, increasing the Mustangs lead to 7-4.
Quarter III
  • The Mustangs started the second half with a man possession of the ball due to having possession of the ball while being man up at halftime.  Christensen took advantage of this early man up possession in the half, and put the Mustangs up by four only 16 seconds into the quarter.
  • Jack Michael, the goalkeeper for the Spartans appeared to be frustrated by the Mustang lead, as he decided to run the ball coast to coast for the 5th Spartan goal of the game, and a possible momentum shift.  Jacob Tatum, Michael's kryptonite of the game, took the momentum away from the Spartans with an unassisted goal.
  • The Spartans went on a 2 goal run after Tatum's 3rd of the game.  These goals both scored by Spartan Brendan O'Sullivan, as his stick was hot the whole game.  Tatum answered back yet again on a man up possession with his 4th goal of the game with an assist from Will Smith.
Quarter IV
  • The 4th quarter started off with a Mustang lead of 10-7, but was quickly shortened to a 10-9 lead.  These two goals were scored by Dylan Wolf and Sean McQuade, and gave the Spartans momentum, as O'Sullivan tied the game up at 10 with 7 minutes left in this nail-biter.
  • Ryan Coleman had been the momentum for the Mustangs all game, but REALLY showed up here in the 4th, getting an unassisted goal with 3:30 left in the game.  The Mustangs needed to keep this energy up for such a short time, and Cam Leydig helped take some pressure off with a goal assisted by Christensen to make the score 12-10 Mustangs.
  • Eric Rank had an unassisted goal in transition for the Spartans with 1:30 left.  It all depended on this next face-off; junior Shiloh Shassian, who was about 50% prior to that face-off, won the biggest face-off of the game to give the Mustangs the ball to kill the last 90 seconds.
Mark Poust, the senior Mustang goalkeeper, had 12 saves, with two of them being in the last 3:30.  He plays a huge role in the defense of the Mustang team.  Tatum scored 4 goals for the second game in a row; meanwhile Coleman scored a career high hat-trick, and Will Smith had a career high 3 assists.

Stay tuned for this upcoming weekend, as the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team will play in their home opener on Saturday February 29nd against #10 Gettysburg College at 7:00 p.m. at Mustang Stadium!

Week 1 - #20 Stevenson Men's Lacrosse vs. #19 Ursinus College

The Stevenson Men's Lacrosse Team's season opener this year was against the Men's Lacrosse Team of Ursinus College.  It was a well fought battle by both sides, despite being the first game of the season for both teams.  The final score was 13 for Ursinus, and 12 for the Mustangs.  Heres a game recap.

The First Quarter (of the season)
  • The Mustangs went up to an early two goal lead; the first goal being scored by sophomore Josh Brannan, assisted by fellow Dematha alumni sophomore Cam leydig.  The second goal scored by junior Jacob Tatum, and was unassisted.
  • The Ursinus Bears answered right away with a quick goal by Hakan Atillasoy; only to have Stevenson senior Ethan Christensen answer right back with an unassisted goal to make it 3-1 Mustangs.
  • The Bears then went on to score 2 goals, by Joe Mercutio and Hakan Atillasoy.  This scoring run was stopped by Jacob Tatum with a goal assisted from sophomore Ryan Coleman.  The Bears ended the quarter with 2 more goals, scored by Atillasoy again, and Alex Dean.
The Second Quarter
  • The score was 5-4 in favor of the Bears going into the second quarter.  The Bears continued their scoring run right off the bat in the second, scoring two goals in about 5 minutes; scored by Ben Minardi and Erik Ojert.  The score was now 7-4, and the Mustangs knew they had to answer back.
  • Fortunately, junior Will Smith was there to bring back the momentum with an unassisted goal.  The Bears got two penalties and went two men down, which was extremely utilized by the Mustangs.  The Mustangs scored 2 big goals here within 30 seconds, which led to a scoreless battle for about 5 minutes before the final 1:30 of the half.
  • The Bears scored two quick goals, from Aaron Grill and Bobby McClure, only to be answered with 30 seconds left in the half by Jacob Tatum.
The Third Quarter
  • The score going into the second half was 9-8 in favor of the Bears.  Chase Rondeau started the scoring off with an unassisted goal for the Bears to make it 10-8.  Will Smith got things rolling for the Mustangs again, scoring a goal assisted by Ryan Coleman with 6 minutes to go in the quarter.
  • The Mustangs had the momentum and Jacob Tatum took advantage of that, scoring yet another unassisted goal, his 3rd of the game, and 4th total goal.  Tommy Reinhart got the Bears out of the tie going into the 4th, making it 11-10 in favor of the Bears.
The Fourth Quarter
  • Ursinus took advantage of the first penalty called in the fourth quarter on the Mustangs to increase their lead to two.  Stevenson sophomores Josh Brannan and Ryan Coleman, however, worked together to get the Mustangs their 11th goal, and shorten the Bears' lead.
  • Captain Ethan Christensen tied the game up with 2 minutes to go from an assist by Will Smith.  A slash call was made in the last 30 seconds of the game against Stevenson, and Ursinus was able to capitalize on their man up possession to secure the win.
Stay tuned for this upcoming weekend, as the Stevenson Men's Lacrosse team will return to action playing #6 York on Saturday February 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Kinsley Field in York PA
